Why We Love This

18th-century period American Chippendale fall-front desk, circa 1770. Likely made in New England or mid-Atlantic origin. Constructed of mahogany with yellow pine and mixed secondary woods. The interior features pigeon holes, curved valances and shell-carved prospect door and drawers. Case features four graduated dovetailed drawers. Desk is raised on four bracket feet. Features a rare sliding drawer in the interior opening to the top drawer below. Brass bat-wing brasses.
