About Emissary Trading Company

In 1972, Captain Peter Nealing USAF was stationed in Thailand and conceptualized Emissary Trading Company while visiting local village artisans. An adventuresome spirit and a pioneering enthusiasm ultimately brought Emissary into existence in 1980. The name Emissary was chosen because it describes, in a word, the company philosophy: to be an emissary or ambassador, bringing beautiful home accents from Asia to the world.
