This painterly figurative work is an original oil painting on canvas by Steven Boksenbaum. To create each piece, Boksenbaum deconstructs collected photographs, reorienting their subjects into the limited space of the painting. He works with a limited palette and without his eyeglasses, a unique process that allows the artist to focus on movement, skewed perspective, and unconventional contrasts. Boksenbaum holds a BFA and MFA from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University. He has shown in several solo exhibitions in Pittsburgh, where he lives and works.
