Why We Love This

A period marine watercolor showing a dramatic view of Folkestone harbor in the south of England with fishing boats in heavy weather. Signed lower right "Phyllis McDowell" (British, 20th century), a listed artist, and painted circa 1975. A noted author and teacher, McDowell has exhibited widely and with success including at London's Royal Academy of Art, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the Society of Botanical Artists. Titled on label verso. Unframed.
