Why We Love This

Swiss artist and bookseller Karl Joseph Brodtmann (1787-1862) was one of the most accomplished lithographers of his day. This is a fine-art giclée reproduction of an original Brodtmann etching, held in the William Stafford archives. The gesso-and-wood frame was hand-finished in silver by craftsmen using 17th-century Florentine techniques.
