Actress and style icon Marilyn Monroe in a casual portrait from 1952. Monroe went from photographer's model to movie star during the late 1940s and early 1950s, playing a variety of "dumb blondes," but also gaining recognition for her comedic talents. This is a fine print of the original photograph. It is set in a gesso-and-wood frame that has been hand-finished by craftsmen using traditional 17th-century Florentine techniques. The frame is hand-painted in black.
