Why We Love This

1970s ink and colored pencil on paper abstract by Illinois artist Dellard Cassity (1926-2008). This piece is a study for a future painting. While internationally recognized artists such as Stella, Kelly and Vasarely were pioneering the styles of hard-edge abstraction and optical art in the world’s big cities, Cassity was quietly doing the same in his small town of Litchfield, Illinois. Unframed. Shipped with standard archival mat. Estate stamped with artist's signature on back of mat.
