Why We Love This

Created for an exhibition at Galerie Maeght in Paris, this stunning work was reproduced as a six-color lithograph by the celebrated Atelier Mourlot in Paris in 1959. The piece has been handsomely framed and matted.
Educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, Russian-born artist Marc Chagall emigrated to France in 1923. Though influenced early on by Russian Expressionism and French Cubism, Chagall created a style unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints, as well as the stained glass designs he created for European cathedrals.
