Created for an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, this work was reproduced in 1959 as a beautiful two-color lithograph by the celebrated Atelier Mourlot in Paris. The work has been handsomely framed and matted.
Educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, Russian-born artist Marc Chagall emigrated to France in 1923. Though influenced early on by Russian Expressionism and French Cubism, Chagall created a style unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints, as well as the stained glass designs he created for European cathedrals.
