Why We Love This

Brewsie and Willie by Gertrude Stein. New York: Random House, 1946. First printing. Designed by Ernst Reichl, with bookplate of the period. Dust jacket shows corner wear and slight staining to back, otherwise excellent first printing of a rare work. Stein addresses the problems faced by GIs returning to the motherland, once the war was over, written with her characteristic child-like simplicity.
