This photograph by Richard Rutledge appeared in the May 1959 issue of Glamour magazine. An archival giclée reproduction, the work comes beautifully matted and framed in silver-finished molding.
In the years following World War II, Condé Nast maintained a grand photography studio in midtown Manhattan. There, a stable of photographers and assistants cranked out fashion spreads, portraits, and product still lifes. One of those studio photographers, Richard Rutledge, is relatively unknown today, but for a 15-year period following the war he was one of the most frequently published photographers in Vogue, Glamour, and House & Garden.
