Why We Love This

A fine-art reproduction of "Almond Branches in Bloom, San Remy" (1890) by Vincent van Gogh. This work is part of a group of paintings Van Gogh made between 1888 and 1890 in the southern French towns of Arles and Saint-Rémy. The works reflect the influence of Impressionism, Divisionism, and Japanese woodcuts. "Almond Branches in Bloom" was made to celebrate the birth of Van Gogh's nephew and namesake, the son of his brother, Theo. In a letter to his mother, Van Gogh wrote of this piece: "I started right away to make a picture for him, to hang in their bedroom, big branches of white almond blossom against a blue sky." Custom frame.
