Why We Love This

A gorgeous necklace, with a design that was cast from an urchin the designer found on Treasure Beach in Jamaica. This is a perfect example of a found object transforming into a stunning piece of art. The piece is handcrafted of reclaimed sterling silver that has been slightly oxidized, to give it a subtle glow. The silver urchin hangs on a 16-inch chain with a handmade clasp.

About Emily Amey Jewelry

Emily Amey has an innate knack for chic, natural design. She chooses precious and semiprecious stones, often collected on her own global travels, and sets them off in spectacularly simple designs of silver and gold. The stones are responsibly sourced, and she uses reclaimed and recycled metals wherever possible. Amey handcrafts each piece in her Williamsburg, Brooklyn studio.
