Gifts for Style Mavens
As the visionary behind the Alice + Olivia label, Stacey Bendet is all about putting the fun back in fashion...and gifting. “My style is playful, random, and full of surprises, and so are my ideal holiday gifts.”
Get to know this fashion luminary and see why stylish living is less about work and more about play.
Haute Gets Happy
Bendet was born into fashion (her father had a textile-importing business) and launched Alice + Olivia in 2002 after a pair of pants she created for herself caught the attention of some key players in the industry.
The label's legions of fans, including Hollywood starlets and top fashion editors, adore Bendet's "girls just want to have fun" approach to design, and the Alice + Olivia blog epitomizes Bendet's unique style and fun-loving personality.
Fashion at Home
How does Bendet’s insouciant style translate to her home? “For me it’s all about the mix—I look for color, fun textures, and I love vintage finds,” she says. “I like there to be a quirkiness and a humor to things in my home, and it has to be kid friendly. I feel like your home should play into your life, not the other way around.”
A portion of the proceeds from Stacey’s sale will go directly to Baby Buggy. The nonprofit organization, founded by Jessica Seinfeld in 2001, works with community-based groups to distribute new and gently used items such as strollers, cribs, and clothing to families in need.
“As a mother of young children, I think what they do as an organization is amazing, and especially important around the holidays," Bendet says. "They're changing families' lives every day."
