Make a small, favorite antique rug the jewel of a space. Placed on top of a larger neutral covering, such as a sisal area rug, the character and charm of the antique shines brightly.
They may be long and lean but that doesn’t mean these rugs are just for hallways. Try throwing one down on any bit of empty floor that could use a touch of texture.
Tip: Always use a rug pad underneath a runner to keep it in place.
Mix It Up
In lieu of wall to wall or an enormous area rug, use multiple smaller rugs in a variety of patterns to liven up a living room, and define different areas in the space.
Tip: Select rugs with similar palettes to keep a sophisticated look and feel.
Layer, Layer, Layer
Can’t decide between rugs? We love the layered look for a Souk-inspired space. The gentle piling adds an atmosphere of casual, exotic flair to a sitting room, den, or any area that serves as a private retreat.
Tip: Select furniture with clean, simple lines to balance the overall look.
