The Cocktail Party
Less work than a dinner party but just as festive: Invite friends over to sip bubbly and nibble on hors d’oeuvres. Here’s our cocktail-ready kit.
Platters and plates: Dress up store-bought snacks with a pretty platter or tray, while a stack of small plates encourages guests to mingle rather than hover around the food.
Plenty of glassware: Flutes are always nice, but making sure all your guests have a fresh glass is an absolute must.
Cocktail napkins: Linen cocktail napkins definitely steps up the evening, but a pretty paper set will also get the job done.
The Seated Dinner
Nothing beats breaking out your finest and gathering around a holiday dinner table. Here’s our dining-in-style kit.
Dinnerware and flatware: If you have wedding china and silver, use it! For simpler dinnerware, layer a salad plate and bowl on top of the dinner plate to create a sense of occasion.
Stylish stemware: Each place setting needs a wineglass (we love crystal), and a water glass. Using a decanter for the evening’s wine is a great touch.
Linens and candlelight: A tablecloth instantly dresses up any table, and the same goes for the flicker of candlelight.
