Patterns for Living

Preeminent London-based textile and rug designer Christopher Farr was a young abstract painter in 1975 when he won a Boise traveling fellowship to Peru. Captivated by the 3,000-year-old Pre-Columbian textiles he encountered there, he knew his artistic fate had been sealed. Fusing his love of abstraction with the ancient dyeing and looming techniques he learned in Peruvian and Turkish villages, he creates textile masterpieces to bring life to walls, pillows, furniture, and beyond.
