      Vintage Appeal

Illustrator, artist, and pattern and fabric designer: Sarah Jane’s talents are as limitless as her creations. “I am most inspired when I go back to thinking as I did as a child,” she says. The results are charming prints and delightful pillows. From her studio in Provo, UT, Sarah Jane marries preppy colors and motifs with her original drawings and a touch of embroidery to great effect. The finished product is a keepsake they’ll never grow out of.

        Soft Focus

Specializing in earth-friendly toys and accessories made from organic cotton and wool felt, Brooklyn designer Stephanie Monroe has always been “fascinated with colors and techniques and how you can marry them to translate into something unexpected and imaginative.” That translation is a line of soft, huggable toys that are the perfect balance of homespun and modern. Monroe also has a knack for eye-catching color, from brights to muted organic tones.

        • Benjamin Reynaert

          Open Book

Benjamin Reynaert seems to eat, sleep, and breathe books. In addition to teaching bookbinding, papermaking, and book arts at universities, he creates hand-bound books, portfolios, and boxes from his studio in Brooklyn. He gave his Hipster Baby Book series the love and attention that any new arrival deserves. “Each book is printed in small batches onto heavy stock and hand-bound, one at a time, with French linen cloth and linen thread, ”he says. Reynaert even draws a bespoke cover decal, making each book a truly one-of-a-kind addition to a child’s library.

          • Baby Bandar

            Color Play

Baby Bandar’s bedding, clothing, and accessories allow a child to be surrounded by beautiful color and pattern. “We want to capture colors and prints never before seen in baby bedding,” says designer Rtika Grover. The collection takes its inspiration from India and uses traditional practices of incorporating captivating prints, rich textiles, and unique appliqués and embroideries. Even its name, Bandar, is a nod to the East: Meaning “monkey,” the moniker is what a baby is called in India. These essentials will bring happy color and interest to a nursery.
