The demilune is a hero in a tight area. Its wall-hugging shape makes it an ideal piece for a small entry or a narrow hall. Design legend Albert Hadley placed an 18th-century demilune table in his New York apartment (left).
Swift Seating Area
For an intimate seating area, just gather two chairs on either side of a demilune. The top is just big enough for a gathering of objects, lighting, and art. A demilune is often the perfect width to fill the space between two windows.
A demilune table can give a powder room or bath an unexpected, elegant vanity area. A wood style is a nice counterbalance to the metal fixtures and tile in the space. A small stool or shelf next to the sink can hold towels and soap.
