    • DJ Lucy Wrubel for Peacock Alley

THE MISSION: “An entertaining, fun, and vibrant space that paid homage to the musical lifestyle. We mixed graffiti art, pops of color, and unexpected monograms for the perfect counterpart to our simple bedding.”

THE MUSE: “Music, Mid-Century Modern style, the color-blocking trend.”

DESIGNER TIP: “Paint is your friend! It can dramatically and inexpensively change the vibe of a room.”

      • Studio Ten 25

THE MISSION: “Since I was working with such a large space, I wanted to create multiple areas within the space but keep them cohesive.”

THE MUSE: “The Joker ikat fabric on the wingback chairs was the first thing I selected for the space—I loved the subtle color of the pattern. When Innovations donated the gorgeous warm charcoal wallpaper, everything began to fall into place.”

DESIGNER TIP: “Instead of trying to make the accent colors in your home match, use variations of the same color. It will keep the space from feeling forced and keep it way more interesting.”

        • Square Foot Studio

THE MISSION: “Transforming this small room into a casual, elegant space that could function as a lounge area/work space/dining area.”

THE MUSE: “The dark hues of the furniture inspired us to maintain a bit of a masculine feel. And the horse photo, which came from a very close friend and client; it’s one of her animals. It’s always fun to make a secret statement with something personal.”

DESIGNER TIP: “Keep it simple. Bold statements can be made with contrasts in art, and never underestimate fresh flowers or a plant!”

          • William-Christopher Design

THE MISSION: “A very usable and easily livable space, similar to what Dwell with Dignity does for its clients, infused with a late-1970s vibe.”

THE MUSE: “Our space. The green wall color came directly from the existing wallpaper. The existing Saltillo tile floors were reminiscent of those in so many homes built in the late ’70s, so we infused elements of (and inspired by) that era to create a thoroughly modern space for today.”

DESIGNER TIP: “Dim the lights—everyone and everything will look much better.”

            • IBB Design Fine Furnishings

THE MISSION: “A beautiful yet livable space that would make people feel comfortable.”

THE MUSE: “Our jumping-off point was a multicolor bracelet with mint-green, emerald-green, cobalt-blue, and gold accents. It was a fresh combination that included the color of the year.”

DESIGNER TIP:  “A design statement requires commitment and risk. Here, that meant bold color and eclectic furniture without sacrificing sophistication. Layering gold and silver metal finishes with the saturated colors, along with lush textures, created a refined luxury space.”

              • Trey Hoffmann for Horchow

THE MISSION: ”Making a very large bedroom feel like an intimate, cozy sanctuary.”

THE MUSE: ”John Saladino. Since we wanted our space to be soothing and calming, we thought his style would be perfect. He creates comfortable rooms with great ambience by mixing modern with rustic and adding antiques that give a space a sense of history.”

DESIGNER TIP:  “It’s okay—actually more than okay—to mix modern with traditional. It makes for a much more exciting room.”
