Graphic Greats

    • Patterns with
      Lasting Impact

The beauty of David Hicks’s opulent geometric patterns was that they worked in any setting. And they can be just as stylish in today’s home as they were in the rooms he designed during the 1960s and ’70s. Octogram (far left), an updated take on an original Hicks’s motif, makes for an eye-catching rug that’s also surprisingly unobtrusive next to clean-lined furniture and neutral colors.

      Patterns with Lasting Impact
      • Colors with
        Perennial Charm

Hicks had a penchant for whimsical palettes. While his interiors were often swathed in bold patterns and dramatic hues, the colors always blended together harmoniously. Honeycomb (far left) is a new version of a Hicks design that reiterates the bold yet versatile color effect—it can complement furnishings in either solid hues or graphic patterns.

          Timeless Appeal

One of Hicks’s most celebrated designs was his iconic Hicksonian pattern, which consists of four H’s stylishly linked together. Logogram (far left) is a reinterpretation of the pattern that offers the same polished style and timelessness found in the Hicksonian. The refined take on the pattern can provide a traditional living room with a contemporary look and feel.
