19th-C Mercury Glassware - Set of 4 - Portfolio No.6
An assortment of authentic Victorian mercury glassware, comprising of two goblets, a bowl and a jug with metal spout, each embellished with hand-engraved vine motif and monogram. Made of hand-blown double walled construction, heat silvered between the layers and cork sealed at base to prevent oxidization. Despite its description mercury was never used to create tablewares. Unmarked. Dimensions: goblets, 3.8"Dia x 5.7"H; pitcher, 5.5"L x 3.5"W x 6.75"H; bowl, 4.5"Dia x 4"H.
