Why We Love This

Red Wing Pottery (1878-1967) of Red Wing, Minnesota did not begin an Art Pottery line until 1929. Under the direction of George Rumrill, Red Wing produced a series of RumRill releases from 1932 until 1937. This wide-mouth, double-handled vase is finished in the Dutch Blue Stipple glaze, one of Rumrill's most collectible finishes. The vase is styled after a classic Greek shape. The bottom is incised "638 RumRill" and there are some typical pin hole glaze pops that occurred in firing.
