As described by French 50s 60s

This asymmetrical Mid-Century Modern serving dish features a cut-out hole for handling and a brightly colored sailboat set against a textured brown and white background. The dish is signed "Tess," to the side of the sailboat. Crafted in Vallauris, a pottery village in the south of France where ceramics have been produced since ancient times.

About the Seller

French 50s 60s
French 50s 60s

For the past three decades, Galerie Sommerlath and French 50s 60s owner Michele Sommerlath has been an art and antiques dealer with a specialty in American and European Mid-Century Modern design. Born in France, she spent the early part of her youth in Morocco before moving back to Paris. She credits both countries with informing her taste for design and color. Her approach to curation is intuitive: She buys what she loves. Her current passion is revisiting and refreshing 1980s design.
