Why We Love This

A substantial and period Post-Impressionist still-life showing pink and white tulips informally arranged in a glass vase and set on a table overlooking a garden. Signed lower right, "C.S. Werner," for Conrad Stonor Werner (Danish, 1897-1979) and painted circa 1925. Winner of the Assisi Scholarship, Werner studied at the Copenhagen Art Academy and, later, in Venice and Rome. He subsequently moved to Paris, where he exhibited with success at the Salon des Artistes Fran├žais from 1921. Unframed.

About McNaught Fine Art

A 1986 graduate of Christie's Fine Arts of London, I headed the fine art department of a West Coast auction house before opening my own gallery. Each painting I represent is selected with care. I believe fine art to be an integral part of life, illuminating both our vision and our values for our children. As time passes, our paintings become heirlooms, enriched with our shared memories. Many things come and go. Art abides. - Anthony McNaught
