A substantial early-twentieth-century Post-Impressionist still-life of pink and white tulips informally arranged in a vase and set before a window overlooking a garden. Signed lower right, "C.S. Werner," for Conrad Stonor Werner (Danish, 1879-1979), a well-listed artist and painted circa 1925. Winner of the Assisi Scholarship, Conrad Werner studied in Italy and Paris, exhibiting with success at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1921 to 1923. Unframed.

    About the Seller

    McNaught Fine Art

A 1986 graduate of Christie's Fine Arts of London, I headed the fine art department of a West Coast auction house for three years before opening my own gallery in 1989. Every painting I represent is selected with care. I believe fine art to be an integral part of the fully-lived life, illuminating both our vision and our values for our children. As time passes, our paintings become heirlooms, enriched with our shared memories. Many things come and go. Art abides. —Anthony McNaught
