As described by
The Everglades: River of Grass by Marjory Stoneman Douglas, illus. by Robert Fink. NY: Rhinehart, 1947. First Edition, 3rd printing. 406 pp. Hardcover with dust jacket. Protected in Mylar jacket. However, there was some damage to jacket edges previously. Douglas was one of the earliest ecologists and women's rights activists. Her interest in the Everglades encompasses the area itself, but focuses on the dangers of its draining, something we have come to understand today.
