Why We Love This

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. London: Gollancz, 1938. Hardcover. First printing of an extremely rare, highly collectible modern first that was the basis for Hitchcock's brilliant 1940 film noir starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine. Book is very good, in black boards with faded gilt lettering on front and spine and no foxing. Scarce yellow jacket with 8/6 price on age-toned spine and the called-for blank flaps and blank rear panel, with wrinkling on jacket back.
