As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

Galápagos: A Novel by Kurt Vonnegut. New York: Delacorte Press, 1985. First printing. A lovely copy of the first trade edition, in a very good jacket, with slight edge wear. Hardcover. After a cruise to the Galápagos Islands, Vonnegut conceived this fantasy history of human evolution through the thoughts of various visitors since the dawn of time. Vonnegut's unusual mixture of history, autobiography and weird philosophical jumps end up uniting all his novels to form a larger whole.
