Why We Love This

Black amethyst glass tidbit tray with center handle in the Mount Pleasant pattern, by the L. E. Smith Glass Company from 1930 to '35. At first glance this piece appears to be black, but is actually a deep purple as seen when held up to a very bright light. No maker's mark, but research identified manufacturer and pattern.
