Old bookplate inside cover. The book describes Parkman's own actual wanderings in 1846 when he traveled across the regions of the Platte River, buffalo-hunting in the Black Hills, and returned through the Rocky Mountains. Damage includes losses at top and bottom of spine; stains inside; rear cover damaged.
