As described by L'Affichiste Vintage Posters

In the early 1920s, when paper money became scarce due to war, political upheavals, and inflation, communities and cities in certain parts of Germany began printing their own banknotes. These notes were beautiful and detailed lithographs, highly collectable documents of social history, complete with images that reflect their time and place of printing. Printed on both sides.
