As described by Design Line

1950s Japanese blue and white porcelain bowl features a translucent rice pattern. It is created by grains of rice set in the body wall of raw porcelain, the rice burns away during firing, and the spaces are filled with glaze. Marked with gold label, “OMC; Japan."
