Why We Love This

Beautiful, narrow, probably Scandinavian cupboard, late 18th to early 19th century. Wood is thick, rough-cut fir. Moldings have been restored. Several layers of distressed older paint (black over earlier red) give depth to the surface. Case is several inches narrower and shallower than the overall dimensions, which include the heavy moldings. Three top interior shelves and a bottom cabinet.

Decades of buying, selling, collecting, and furnishing houses have given us a unique entree into many New England estates.
