Why We Love This

Framed hand-colored lithograph of the work of Bernard-Germain-Étienne de La Ville-sur-Illon, comte de Lacépède or La Cépède, a French herpetologist and ichthyologist (snake and fish researcher) who lived from 1756-1825. Print is from his book Oeuvres de Lacepede, which was published in Paris after his death, between 1827 and 1828. Displayed in a black wood frame with a double mat and behind plexiglass. Hanging hardware included.

About Relique

At their online shop Relique, Rick Brandt and Mary Beth Voss showcase vintage and repurposed interior accents that are unique with history, texture, and soul. Their pieces are a cross-section of Then and Now and include Industrial Age designs as well as artisanal adaptations of classic treasures. Relique gives forgotten and ignored bits of history new life as display pieces, in the hopes that new generations will appreciate their past.
