Why We Love This

Dynamic abstract composition by Bert Miripolsky with energetic brushwork and saturated color. Miripolsky (American, 20th century) studied painting at the Chicago Art Institute in the early 1940s and has exhibited throughout the world since 1945. His work portrays personal experiences expressed through color and form in the mode of such artists as Kandinsky, Kline and Rothko. Displayed in a simple wood frame.

About French 50s 60s

For the past three decades, Galerie Sommerlath and French 50s 60s owner Michele Sommerlath has been an art and antiques dealer with a specialty in American and European Mid-Century Modern design. Born in France, she spent the early part of her youth in Morocco before moving back to Paris. She credits both countries with informing her taste for design and color. Her approach to curation is intuitive: She buys what she loves. Her current passion is revisiting and refreshing 1980s design.
