Daufuskie is a sea island between Savannah, GA, and Hilton Head Island, SC, over 2 miles offshore with a full-time population of around 250. It was populated by Gullahs, descendants of freed slaves with their own language cuisine until it became a tourist spot. The book contains old photos, recipes, reproduced from handwritten pp.
About the Seller
Julie Goldman has been collecting books all her life. As a child, she spent many days haunting the used book stores on 4th Avenue in NYC with her father. Most collectors become booksellers out of necessity, and Goldman began selling about 15 years ago. The library lions are the pair of stone lions who guard the New York Public Library.
