As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

The Journey's Echo: Selections from Freya Stark. London: John Murray, 1963. First printing. Lawrence Durrell writes the foreword to this selection from the travel writing of one of the greatest English adventurers. She maddened the authorities by always being in the "wrong" place, in an age that did not encourage the clear-eyed, single woman traveler. A sort of camel-riding Miss Marple, when her back wasn't playing up. Slight wear on jacket surface, otherwise excellent. Hardcover.
