Why We Love This

An Indian Album by Cecil Beaton. London: B.T. Batsford, 1945. First Edition. 78 pages. Hardcover with dust jacket. Jacket for this title rarely wears well because wartime paper restrictions were in effect. The book itself is in very good condition. Includes attractive full-page photogravure plates depicting photographs Beaton took when he visited India during World War II as part of his duties for the Office of War Information.

About Nick Harvill Libraries

California-based Nick Harvill Libraries specializes in out-of-print and rare books from the 20th century on fashion, design, art, social history, travel, Hollywood, and photography. NHL and its books have been profiled in Vogue, C Magazine, The Peak of Chic, Angeleno, Vogue Living, the Los Angeles Times, and American Express’s Black Ink Magazine. Elle Décor recommended NHL for its “hip vintage books” from a “smart young dealer.”
