Why We Love This

Favorite Haunts and Creature Comforts by Charles Addams. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1976 and 1981. First printings. Books have owner names and small chips from dust jacket edges, otherwise a lovely pair of cartoon collections, from the master of the genre. Addams identified the quintessentially American obsession with horror, at once scary and funny, grotesque and utterly suburban.
