Includes 175 black and white illustrations and color fold out of an 18th-century American hooked rug. Survey of hooked rug history, its ancient origin and modern developments, methods of making, sources of design and values (1930-40) and the hunt for rugs. Lovely early American designs. Text is clean and unmarked. Linen cover worn. Scarce.
