As described by Carriage House Antiques

Hand-colored engraving of a Carduus lacteus, a cardoon plant closely related to the artichoke. Hand-colored page from a book printed c.1570 by Wolfgang Meyerpeck. A faint image of the printing on the reverse ghosts though. Image, 7.5"W x 12"L; outside mat dimensions: 13.75"W x 18"L.
