Why We Love This

The Book Hunter by John Hill Burton, Wm. Blackwood Sons, London, 1862. Bound in half-calf, spine title treatment in gilt, five bands and six compartments, a very fine copy. Scottish historian John Hill Burton (1809-1881) writes a series of essays: "A Vision of Mighty Book Hunters," "The Prowler and the Auction-Haunter" and others on book-buying and book hunters. Some foxing and fading. Marbled endpapers.
