Why We Love This

Nicely preserved early American Flint Glass buttermilk goblet in the Bellflower pattern, circa 1860. Prior to the 1800s, only expensive, handblown glassware was available. By the late 1840s, pressed glass dishes were made in large quantities and became affordable to the average household. This mass produced "flint glass" was a part of the American Industrial Revolution.
