Hand-colored engraving of a Greenland Whale with a whaling ship and sailors. From The Naturalist's Library by Sir William Jardine. Engraved and hand-colored in Edinburgh, 1843. Displayed in a handmade French mat with gold leaf paper. Includes archival sleeve, museum board, and information card. Mat opening, 5.9"L x 3.6"H; mat, 12"L x 10"H.
