As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

Mani: Travels in the Southern Peloponnese by Patrick Leigh Fermor. London: John Murray, 1958. Second printing. Following his heroic involvement with the liberation of the Greek islands during World War II, Leigh Fermor returned to study the history of the Greek language itself. He explores the Mani area, the harshest coastline, where life was unchanged since medieval times. Book has owner's name and jacket, with lovely design by John Craxton, is chipped at corners.
