Why We Love This

Decorative Patterns of the Ancient World by Flinders Petrie. Published by Bernard Quaritch, London, 1930. Hardcover. 1st Ed. 16 page essay by Petrie w/88 pages of b/w plates. Interior clean and tight. From the author, the book "stands as a first outline of an index to all the decorative imaginings of man." Divided by subject, (ie: Animals, Foliage, Shields, etc) the book illustrates decorative patterns from ancient cultures all over the world. Great resource for designers. Scarce.
