As described by
The Englishman's Castle: a History of Houses, Large and Small, in Town and Country by John Gloag. London: Eyre Spottiswoode, 1949. Second, revised edition, 176 pages, with drawings by Marjory Whittington as well as black and white photographs. This is a well-written survey of English home architecture up to the mid 20th century, and a fine copy in boards and a pictorial dustjacket.
About the Seller
My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
