Lithograph of a tree growing between two hills by internationally renowned Indian artist Ghulam Sheikh. "AP" for 'artist's proof' and Unmoolan a Hindi word meaning abolition, are inscribed on the lower edge along with a signature. Sheikh (b 1937) draws influence from Sufism and Hindi traditions, and has held numerous teaching positions in India and USA. He has shown at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi and at Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

About French 50s 60s

For the past three decades, Galerie Sommerlath and French 50s 60s owner Michele Sommerlath has been an art and antiques dealer with a specialty in American and European Mid-Century Modern design. Born in France, she spent the early part of her youth in Morocco before moving back to Paris. She credits both countries with informing her taste for design and color. Her approach to curation is intuitive: She buys what she loves. Her current passion is revisiting and refreshing 1980s design.
