Why We Love This

Jacob Steinhardt (1887-1968) was born in Zerkow, Germany. He studied at the School of Art in Berlin in 1906 and then with Louis Corinth and Hermann Struck. Steinhardt immigrated to Palestine in 1933 and became a teacher/director of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. He is best known for his narrative woodcuts of biblical and Jewish subjects. He won several international prizes and had many exhibition across the world.
