Why We Love This

A small English Georgian mahogany cabinet, circa 1790-1800. The doors are veneered with well-figured flame mahogany and enriched with string line inlay in panel form, and all cross banded. The top has a reeded edge; the sides have brass lifting handles and the cabinet is supported on ebonized paw feet. The interior fitted with a single shelf. Well suited for a low bedside table, or a cabinet to hold various small articles, such as DVDs, video games, etc.

About Digby Chadwick Antiques

Curiouser and curiouser. . .We look for things that inspire a sense of wonder; things that demonstrate not only quality of design but also quality of workmanship in the execution of this design. With furniture we are particularly keen on patination and color. We like a good hard wax finish, vibrant color and quality carving. Beauty, utility, quality, condition and authenticity are important, but beauty is essential.
